# SMS Notification Terms

> GoGuardian Beacon SMS notification terms cover opt-in, opt-out, message frequency, and carrier information for staff who receive text message alerts.

GoGuardian Beacon sends SMS messages to users who have opted in to receive text message notifications for Beacon alerts. Only notifications enabled in the **Staff Notifications** section of **Alert Preferences** are sent.

## Review Message Frequency

Message frequency is recurring. The number of messages depends on your Beacon notification settings and whether an alert is generated for your deployment.

## Opt Out

To stop receiving Beacon SMS messages at any time:

1. Log in to [beacon.goguardian.com](https://beacon.goguardian.com) and go to **Settings** > **Your Beacon Profile**.

2. Under **Notification Format**, uncheck **Text Message**.

3. Click **Save Changes**. You will no longer receive SMS messages from GoGuardian Beacon.

To opt back in, follow the same steps and select the **Text Message** checkbox.

## Review Rates and Carrier Information

Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless provider with any questions about your text or data plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
