# Compare App Usage Across Schools

> Compare app usage between schools in Discover by filtering one school at a time and reviewing the same metrics for each view.

Use GoGuardian Discover to compare app usage between schools by filtering one school at a time and reviewing the same metrics for each view.

## Filter Dashboard to One School

1. Go to **Discover**.

2. Click **Dashboard**.

3. Click the **OU** filter.

4. Select the first school you want to review.

5. Select the same date range that you plan to use for all schools in this comparison.

6. Apply the filter.

7. Review the following dashboard sections for this school:
   * Top apps
   * Usage trends
   * Device count by operating system

8. Record the key numbers you need for your comparison. Optional: select **Export Report** to save this school's data as a CSV file.

## Filter Dashboard to a Second School

1. Select the **OU** filter again.
2. Clear the first school selection.
3. Select the next school you want to compare.
4. Keep the same date range and any other filter settings.
5. Review the same dashboard sections for this school.
6. Record the key numbers.

## Compare Schools

Review the numbers you recorded for each school side by side. If you exported data, open both CSV files in a spreadsheet application to compare columns.

## FAQ

**Does Discover show a built-in side-by-side comparison view?**

No. Use the filter-and-compare workflow in this article. Filter to one school, record or export the data, then filter to another school.

**What if a school shows no data?**

The OU may have no usage during the selected date range. Expand the date range or select a different OU to confirm. See [Fix Missing Data](/products/discover/fix-missing-data) for more steps.
