This article defines each license status in GoGuardian Discover and lists available actions for each status.

## Review License Status Fields

License status shows whether a license is current, approaching renewal, or past renewal.

| Status   | Definition                                                         | Available Actions                                     |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Active   | The license is current and hasn't reached its renewal date         | Edit details, set reminder                            |
| Expiring | The license renewal date is approaching within the reminder window | Edit details, set or edit reminder, renew             |
| Expired  | The license has passed its renewal date                            | Edit details, set reminder for the next renewal cycle |

## FAQ

**How does Discover decide when a license is expiring?**

A license appears as expiring when it's within the reminder window you set. Discover also surfaces licenses that expired in the last 30 days or will expire within the next 30 days in the dashboard alert.
