# Add Audio Clip to Pear Assessment
> Attach audio to a question by recording directly in the editor or uploading an MP3 file from your device.
In Pear Assessment, teachers can add an audio clip to a question, which is also known as an Item. Audio can be recorded or uploaded from a local device.
## Add Audio Clip to Pear Assessment
In Pear Assessment, teachers can add an audio clip to a question, which is also known as an Item. Audio can be recorded or uploaded from a local device.
## Add Audio
1. Click **Item Bank** in the navigation menu.
2. Click **New Item**.
3. Click the audio button in the editor under the **Edit Mode** tab.
4. Click one of the following buttons in Pear Assessment:
* **Microphone**: Record audio up to 5 minutes long. Please note the file will automatically attach to the question after you stop recording. You can delete it with the delete/backspace key on your keyboard.
* **Upload**: Add an MP3 file from your device.
5. Complete the rest of the settings for your question and save or publish it.
