# Set Up Performance Bands as District Admin

> Configure performance bands to categorize student scores on local and state assessments in Pear Assessment

Performance bands categorize a student's performance on a test based on results from local and state assessments. District administrators can create and manage performance bands in **Manage District** > **Settings** > **Performance Bands**.

## Set Up a Performance Band Profile

1. Go to **Manage District** in the navigation menu.
2. Click **Settings** > **Performance Bands**.
3. Click **Create New Profile**.
4. Name the profile after a performance band.
5. Click **Create**.

<Tip>
  Click the pencil button to edit an existing performance band's standards or add a new band to the profile, then click **Save**.

<Note>
  * The first performance band must have a **From** value of 100 percent.
  * The last performance band must have a **To** value of 0 percent.
  * A minimum of two bands must be in the profile.
  * District administrators can enter percentages up to two decimal places.

## Select a Default Performance Band

1. Go to **Manage District** in the navigation menu.
2. Click **Settings** > **Test Settings**.
3. Select your preferred settings under **Default Performance Band Profiles**.
