# Syncing Scores to Google Classroom FAQ

This article answers common questions about syncing assessment scores from Pear Assessment to Google Classroom.

## What Happens When Release Score Policy Is Turned On?

Assessment scores sync to Google Classroom when *Release Score Policy* is enabled. Free accounts can only enable *Release scores, student responses and correct answers*. Premium accounts can select from the following options:

* Release scores only
* Release scores and student responses
* Release scores, student responses and correct answers

## What Do Teachers and Students See When Release Score Policy Is Turned Off?

When *Release Score Policy* is set to *Off*, teachers can see grades in *Draft* status and students cannot see grades in Google Classroom.

## Which Attempt Shows in Google Classroom If an Assessment Has Been Redirected?

If a teacher redirects the assignment for a student, the new score replaces the previous score, showing the most recent attempt's score in Google Classroom.

On the student dashboard in Google Classroom, the student will see a new assignment on their *Stream* for each redirect.

## Do Modified or Updated Grades Show in Google Classroom?

Updated grades automatically sync to Google Classroom when all of the following apply:

* *Release Score Policy* is turned on
* Auto-grading is turned on
* An auto-graded question's score is updated by an administrator or teacher in the student-centric view or Express Grader

<Note>Grades are not updated in Google Classroom when scores are updated for manually graded questions.</Note>

## How Do Absent Student Assignments Show in Google Classroom?

Google Classroom shows an empty score for an assignment when a student is marked absent.

## What Happens When an Assignment Is Not Given to a Student Account Synced from Google Classroom?

The teacher view in Google Classroom shows the assignment as *Not Assigned* when an assignment has not been assigned to a student in Google Classroom.

## How Does a Pear Assessment Assignment Show in Google Classroom?

When a teacher marks an assessment as submitted, an assessment that is in progress or not started will not appear as graded for the student in Google Classroom. The teacher will have to manually add the scores in Google Classroom.

<Tip>Students must select **Submit** for their assignment in Pear Assessment or **Mark as Done** in Google Classroom for the score to automatically show in Google Classroom.</Tip>
