Each method offers distinct advantages depending on how your school or district manages testing. ## Admin-Assigned Assessments Admin-assigned assessments give administrators direct control over how and when assessments are distributed across classes. * Assign to classes in bulk. * Eliminate accidental assigning or duplicating of questions used on shared teacher tests. * Create specific times when the assessments can be opened or closed. * Lock the assessment settings. Use the teacher-assigned method if you plan to give unique tests or test settings per student within the same class (extended time, calculator, shuffle questions, and so on). ## Teacher-Assigned Assessments Teacher-assigned assessments give individual teachers more flexibility and control over how assessments are delivered to their students. * Assign assessments to specific students in classes, such as students with accommodations. * Retain more flexibility after assigning the assessment. * Hide questions from teachers before grading. * Lock settings to require teachers to use the same settings. Unless you are using [District Custom Collections](/products/pear-assessment/district-custom-collections), assessments can be duplicated, resulting in data from multiple versions of assessments. ## Resources Set up and distribute assessments to classes in bulk as an administrator.
