# Fix a Pear Assessment Assignment

> Resolve assignment problems after a Pear Assessment is distributed, including wrong assignments, unsubmit requests, grade sync failures, and missing results.

Use this article when an assignment has already been distributed to students and something needs to be corrected. For pre-distribution changes, edit the assessment directly before assigning.

## I Assigned the Wrong Assessment

If students have not started, delete the assignment and reassign the correct one.

1. In Pear Assessment, open **Assignments**.
2. Find the assignment and click the three-dot menu.
3. Select **Delete Assignment**.
4. Assign the correct assessment.

If students have already started or submitted, you cannot delete the assignment. Unassign the students who should not have received it, then assign the correct assessment to those students separately.

To unassign individual students:

1. Open the assignment and click **Manage Students**.
2. Select the students to remove.
3. Click **Unassign**.

Unassigned students retain any responses they already submitted. Those responses are removed from class-level reporting.

## I Need to Let a Student Resubmit or Redo an Assessment

Teachers can redirect a submitted assignment back to a student for another attempt.

1. Open the assignment in **Assignments**.
2. Click the student's name in the results table.
3. Click **Redirect**.
4. Confirm the redirect.

The student receives the assignment again at the same settings. Previous responses are archived and not overwritten.

If the redirect option is not available, the assignment may be closed. Open the assignment first, then redirect.

## Standards Are Not Aligning in the Results

Standards appear in reports only when items are tagged to a standard and the standards set is enabled for the district or teacher account.

Check the following:

* **Item-level standards:** Open the assessment, select an item, and confirm a standard is attached. Standards set at the assessment level do not flow to items automatically.
* **Selected standards set:** In account settings, confirm the correct standards set is active. If the standards set was changed after the assessment was created, item tags may reference a different set.
* **Report filters:** In the results view, check that the standards filter is not set to a different framework than the one the items are tagged to.

If items are tagged correctly and the standards set matches but data still does not appear, allow up to 24 hours for the report to update after submissions close.

## Grades Did Not Sync to Google Classroom or My LMS

Grade sync to Google Classroom and most LMS gradebooks requires the assignment to have been created from within Pear Assessment with the integration active.

Check the following:

* **Integration status:** Go to **Settings** and confirm the Google Classroom or LMS integration is connected and authorized.
* **Assignment source:** Grades sync only for assignments created with the integration active. Assignments created before the integration was connected do not sync retroactively.
* **Score release:** Scores must be released to students before they appear in Google Classroom. Go to the assignment, click **Release Scores**, and confirm.
* **Manual sync:** In the assignment results view, click **Sync to Google Classroom** to trigger a manual push if the automatic sync did not run.

For Canvas and Schoology, confirm the assignment was created through the LMS integration and that the grade passback setting is enabled in the LMS tool configuration.

## Results or Scores Are Missing

If scores do not appear in the results view, check the following:

* **Assignment status:** Open the assignment and confirm it is not in Draft status. Scores are not visible while an assignment is in Draft.
* **Student submission status:** In the results table, check whether the student's status is Submitted, In Progress, or Not Started. Scores appear only for Submitted responses.
* **Closed vs. open assignment:** If the assignment is closed, open it to allow late submissions.
* **Deleted students:** If a student was removed from the class roster after submitting, their data may not appear in the current view. Use the **All Students** filter to include unenrolled students in the results.

If scores were submitted correctly but a score transfer to another assignment or class is needed, contact Pear Assessment support. Score transfers between assignments or classes require a data request.

## Contact Support

For assignment issues that cannot be resolved through the steps above, contact Pear Deck Learning support. Include the assignment name, the class name, and the specific symptom when you open a case.
