The right approach depends on whether your school or district has a student information system (SIS) or a rostering integration in place. ## Teacher-Managed Rostering Teachers can create and maintain their own class rosters directly in Pear Assessment. This approach works well for individual classrooms that do not rely on a district-wide sync. Teachers can perform the following functions: * **Create classes and enroll students**: Create a class and paste in a list of enrolled students. If students have Google or Microsoft 365 accounts, Pear Assessment automatically enables single sign-on (SSO) for those accounts. * **Invite students with a class code**: Share a class code so students can join the class themselves. * **Sync with Google Classroom**: Connect a Pear Assessment class to Google Classroom to keep enrollment up to date. ## School or District-Managed Rostering School and district administrators work with the Pear Assessment customer success team to upload and maintain rosters at scale. Two methods are available: * **CSV roster upload**: Pear Assessment performs a one-time annual roster upload using CSV files that include school, student, teacher, class section, and enrollment data. Any roster changes after the initial upload must be managed by teachers or administrators within Pear Assessment. Contact the Pear Assessment customer success team for help with this process. * **Clever roster sync**: Districts that use Clever can sync SIS data with Pear Assessment automatically.
