# Approve Pear Deck as a Third-Party App in Google Workspace

> Add Pear Deck as a trusted third-party app in Google Workspace so students under 18 can sign in to Pear Deck sessions.

In Google Workspace, your administrator must approve Pear Deck as a trusted third-party app to allow students under 18 to sign in. [Workspace policy](https://support.google.com/a/answer/13288950?hl=en) requires this approval for accounts whose users are 18 or younger. Students cannot sign in to Pear Deck sessions if the app is not trusted in Workspace.

For more information about Google Workspace third-party app access changes, see Google's resources:

## Approve Pear Deck as a Third-Party App

Pear Deck may already appear in Workspace as a third-party app awaiting approval. If it is listed, follow these steps. If it is not listed, skip to [Add Pear Deck as a Third-Party App Manually](#add-pear-deck-as-a-third-party-app-manually).

2. Sign in with an administrator account.

3. In the sidebar, click **Security** > **Access and data control** > **API controls**.

4. Click **Manage Third-Party Access**.

5. Under **Configured apps**, click **Add a filter** > **App name**.

6. Enter "Pear Deck Learning" and click **Apply**.

7. Select **Pear Deck Learning** and click **Change access**.

8. For **Scope**, select your root organizational unit (OU) or a specific OU that hosts student accounts. Selecting the root OU is recommended.

9. Click **Continue**.
