# Invite a Student to an Active Live Practice

> Add a student to a Live Practice session that is already in progress in Pear Practice.

When a Live Practice session is already running, you can invite additional students to join without ending or restarting the session. Students receive a join link or code that takes them directly into the active game.

## Before You Begin

* You must have an active Live Practice session running in Pear Practice.
* The student must have a Pear Practice account or be able to sign in with Google, Clever, or Microsoft SSO.
* Students join at [practice.peardeck.com](https://practice.peardeck.com).

## Invite a Student to the Active Session

1. In Pear Practice, open the Live Practice session that is currently in progress.
2. On the teacher dashboard, locate the session join code or join link displayed at the top of the screen.
3. Share the join code or join link with the student. You can:
   * Display the code on your classroom projector or screen.
   * Copy the join link and send it to the student via email, Google Classroom, or your LMS.
4. Ask the student to navigate to [practice.peardeck.com](https://practice.peardeck.com) and sign in.
5. On the student's home screen, the active Live Practice session appears automatically if the student is in the assigned class. If it does not appear, the student should select **Join a Practice** and enter the session code.
6. Confirm the student appears on your teacher dashboard under the active session's participant list.

  Students who join mid-session start from the current question. They do not see questions that were already completed before they joined.
