This page walks you through the end-to-end process of getting GoGuardian deployed in your district. Follow the steps in order. Each step links to product-specific setup pages where you need more detail.

Confirm Prerequisites

Before you begin, confirm you have the following:
  • Google Workspace for Education or Microsoft 365: GoGuardian uses your existing directory for single sign-on and organization sync. At least one of these is required.
  • District IT administrator access: You need admin rights in Google Admin Console or Microsoft Azure AD to deploy extensions or agents to student devices.
  • A GoGuardian account: GoGuardian does not offer self-serve signup. You must work with GoGuardian sales to provision your district account.

Follow These Setup Steps

  1. Request a Demo and Contact Sales GoGuardian pricing is customized based on your district’s enrollment, the products you need, and your contract length. To get started, contact GoGuardian sales to discuss your requirements and receive a custom quote. Visit goguardian.com/request-a-demo to connect with a sales representative. Be prepared to share:
    • Your district’s enrollment (number of students)
    • Your primary device platforms (ChromeOS, Windows, macOS, or a mix)
    • Which products you are interested in (Admin, Teacher, Beacon, GoGuardian Hall Pass, Discover, Pear Deck Learning)
    • Your timeline and any existing compliance requirements (CIPA, FERPA, COPPA)
  2. Sign In to Your GoGuardian Account Once your account is provisioned, sign in at account.goguardian.com using your district administrator credentials. GoGuardian supports:
    • Google SSO: Sign in with your Google Workspace admin account
    • Microsoft 365: Sign in with your Microsoft 365 / Azure AD admin account After signing in, you land on the GoGuardian Admin dashboard, which is your central hub for managing filtering policies, users, and reporting.
  3. Set Up Your Organization GoGuardian uses your existing directory structure to organize students into groups for policy targeting.
    • Google Workspace districts: GoGuardian syncs your Organizational Units (OUs) from Google Admin Console. Students inherit filtering policies based on the OU they belong to. You can also create custom groups that are independent of your OU structure.
    • Microsoft 365 / Active Directory districts: GoGuardian syncs groups from Azure AD or Active Directory for the same purpose. For Teacher and Beacon, GoGuardian supports automated roster sync via Clever and ClassLink in addition to Google Classroom.
