If your Pear Deck account shows a Free plan when you expect Premium access, the cause is usually a mismatch between your subscription and the account you are signed in with. Here is how to find and fix it.
Quick Check: Confirm Which Account You Are Signed in With
Pear Deck Premium is tied to a specific email address. If you have multiple Google accounts, you may be signed in with the wrong one.
- Open app.peardeck.com.
- Click your name or profile photo in the top right.
- Confirm the email address shown matches the one connected to your Premium subscription.
If it does not match, sign out and sign back in with the correct account.
If Your District Provides Premium Through a District License
District Premium is assigned by a subscription manager at your district. Your account must be added to the district license to receive access.
Check the following:
- Confirm your email matches district records. Your Pear Deck account must use the same email address your district registered with Pear Deck Learning. If you recently changed your work email, your old account may still have Premium while the new one does not.
- Contact your subscription manager. Your district’s subscription manager can see which accounts are on the district license and add your account if it is missing. If you do not know who your subscription manager is, ask your school’s IT admin or instructional technology coordinator.
- Confirm the license is active. District licenses renew annually. If the license expired and has not been renewed, all accounts in the district revert to Free until renewal is processed.
If You Purchased an Individual Premium Subscription
- Go to app.peardeck.com and click your name in the top right.
- Select Manage Subscription to see the subscription status and the email address it is associated with.
- If the subscription shows as active but your account still shows Free, sign out and sign back in.
- If the subscription shows as expired or canceled, renew it from the subscription management page.
If you purchased a subscription but cannot locate it, check the email inbox of every Google account you use for a receipt from Pear Deck Learning.
If a Teacher Left and Their License Needs to Be Reassigned
Subscription managers can reassign a Premium license from one teacher account to another.
- Sign in to Pear Deck as a subscription manager.
- Go to Manage Subscription > Manage Users.
- Remove the departed teacher’s account from the license.
- Add the new teacher’s email address.
If you need to transfer a subscription manager role, contact Pear Deck Learning support.
If your account still shows Free after checking the steps above, contact Pear Deck Learning support. Include the email address on your account and whether your district has a license or you purchased an individual subscription. Last modified on July 16, 2026
