Pear Assessment (formerly Edulastic) is a versatile assessment platform that combines the reporting capabilities and customization districts need with the simplified classroom assessments teachers use every day. Whether you are running a quick formative or administering a district-wide benchmark, Pear Assessment handles both in one place.
Individual teachers can sign up for free to create and assign classroom formatives, access the item bank, and view real-time results. District plans unlock common benchmarks, centralized reporting, Data Studio, and additional features. See peardeck.com/pricing for plan details.

Explore What You Can Do with Pear Assessment

23,000+ free pre-built assessments

Browse a library of over 23,000 pre-built assessments across Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies — including released state test items and curriculum-aligned formatives — all free to use.

Standards-aligned item banks

Build your own assessments from a large bank of standards-tagged items, or write your own custom questions and tag them to the standards you are teaching.

Technology-enhanced question types

Use question formats that simulate actual state testing — including drag-and-drop, inline choice, equation editor, graphing, and more — so students are familiar with the interface before test day.

Common benchmarks and district-wide assessments

Create and distribute shared assessments across classrooms, schools, or the entire district. Collect results in a centralized dashboard with consistent reporting across all groups.

Real-time data dashboard

See student responses and scores as they submit. Use the live view to adjust instruction mid-class or identify who needs support before students leave the room.

In-depth standards reporting

Review standards mastery at the student, class, school, or district level. Filter by demographic group, grade, or time period to identify patterns and inform instruction.

Secure testing

Enable browser lockdowns and dynamic passwords to prevent students from navigating away during high-stakes assessments. Customize security settings to match your district’s testing policy.

Video Quiz add-on

Attach questions to a YouTube video and assign it as a quiz or homework activity. Students cannot skip ahead in the video, and their responses appear alongside other assessment data in your dashboard.

Data Studio for district-wide MTSS analysis

Combine assessment results with attendance data, academic risk levels, and external data sources to support MTSS/RTI planning at the district, school, and student level.

State test prep for all 50 states

Access state-specific practice tests and released items for all 50 states. Help students experience the format and question types of their state assessment before the real thing.

Grade passback to your gradebook

Push assessment scores directly to Google Classroom or your LMS gradebook. No manual data entry required.

AI content generation

Use Pear Start’s instant lesson package tools to generate complete assessments alongside lessons and practice sets on any topic in under a minute.

Explore Data Studio

Data Studio is a district-level add-on that gives administrators and instructional leaders a holistic view of student progress. It combines Pear Assessment data with external sources to support MTSS and RTI planning. With Data Studio you can:
  • View assessment data over time — see year-over-year mastery proficiency from Pear Assessment and external benchmark tests together in one dashboard
  • Access the Whole Learner Report — review a single student’s academic performance, attendance data, and risk level side by side
  • Review attendance — see weekly and monthly attendance alongside academic data to identify students who may need proactive outreach
  • Set goals and interventions — define proficiency thresholds and time frames, then track which students the goal or intervention applies to
  • Use the Early Warning Report — configure custom risk bands (high, medium, low) based on attendance, academic performance, and non-academic factors; view point-in-time data and changes over time
  • Collect and review survey responses — send Likert-scale surveys from Pear Assessment and review results in the Data Studio Survey Report
  • Add observational notes — teachers and administrators can attach private or shared notes to individual student records
Data Studio is available as part of district plans. Contact Pear Deck Learning to request a demo focused on MTSS and district reporting.

Access State Test Prep

Pear Assessment includes state-specific practice tests and released items for all 50 states. To find content for your state:
  1. In the item bank, filter by your state’s assessment (for example, STAAR, PARCC, Smarter Balanced, or your state’s released items)
  2. Select from released practice tests or individual released items
  3. Assign directly to students or add items to a custom assessment you are building
Students complete questions using the same technology-enhanced formats they will see on the real state test, so the format is not new to them on test day.
