Data Studio reports can be exported to CSV or printed as PDF. This article covers how to export from each report, current row limits, and how to get complete data when a report is too large for a single export.

How to Export a Report

  1. Open the Data Studio report you want to export.
  2. Apply any filters to scope the data before exporting (school, class, date range).
  3. Click Download or Export at the top of the report.
  4. Select the export format: CSV (data) or PDF (formatted report).
  5. The file downloads to your browser’s default download location.

Export Row Limits

Exports from Data Studio are limited to 100 rows per file. If a report contains more than 100 students or rows, only the first 100 rows are included in the export. To export complete data from a large report, export in pages by adjusting filters:
  1. Apply a filter to narrow the report to a subset — for example, one school or one grade level.
  2. Export that filtered view.
  3. Repeat for each subset.
  4. Combine the exported files as needed in a spreadsheet application.
For example, if a district-wide Performance Trends report contains 600 students across 6 schools, export each school separately by applying the school filter before each export.

Which Reports Support Export

Dashboard and Whole Learner reports are designed for on-screen viewing. Data from these reports can be accessed by switching to a report that supports CSV export.

Export a Shared Report

If a report has been shared with you through a collaboration group, you can export it using the same steps as above. Your export is a snapshot of the data at the time of export. It does not update automatically if the underlying data changes.
