Required Enrollment Data
Every student, teacher, and class section in Pear Assessment must be associated with a school. The following data entities make up a complete enrollment record:- School: The schools that belong within a district. Every student, teacher, and class section must be associated with a school.
- Class Section: Sections tie teachers and students together. A class section represents a group of students pursuing a course of study together (sometimes referred to as a class or class period).
- Student: Students enrolled in one or more class sections.
- Teacher: Instructional staff associated with class sections.
- Enrollment: Denotes the membership of students and teachers within a class section.
Recommended Course Alignment
To maximize the value of Pear Assessment, align class sections to courses and standards. Each class section should be associated with a course that indicates a curriculum of studies required to meet standards within a defined time period (year, semester, or term). Each course is associated with the following:- Grade(s): A course may apply to one or more grade levels. For example, Algebra 1 may be associated with grade levels 9 through 12.
- Subject: A course is always associated with one subject area, such as Mathematics or Science.
- Standards: Standards are recommended by states to gauge student progress and proficiency and to provide classroom teachers with benchmarks to help focus instruction. Standards are often subject-specific, such as Common Core Standards for Math or Georgia Standards of Excellence in Science.
