The GoGuardian App installs GoGuardian Admin, GoGuardian Beacon, and GoGuardian Teacher on managed devices. It filters internet traffic locally using SSL decryption, applying GoGuardian Admin policy rules without requiring a Chrome browser or extension.

Learn How The GoGuardian App Works

The GoGuardian App runs as a native application on managed Windows, iPad, and Mac devices. Once installed, it locally proxies internet traffic using SSL decryption. The app inspects and filters requests based on the organization’s GoGuardian Admin filtering policies. This approach extends GoGuardian Admin filtering, Beacon student safety features, and Teacher classroom management to devices running Windows 10 or later, iPadOS 17 or later, and macOS 14 or later β€” without requiring the GoGuardian Chrome extension or a Chromebook.

Choose When to Use The GoGuardian App

Use The GoGuardian App when your school or district manages:
  • Windows devices through Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, or PDQ Deploy
  • iPads enrolled in a supported MDM platform
  • Mac devices enrolled in a supported MDM platform
If student devices are Chromebooks managed through Google Admin Console, use the GoGuardian Chrome extension instead. See GoGuardian Extensions.
Devices must be enrolled in a supported MDM platform before deploying The GoGuardian App. The app is deployed by the MDM β€” it cannot be installed manually by students or teachers.
