The Efficacy report in Pear Assessment Data Studio helps you measure the effectiveness of interventions by comparing student academic performance before and after support — or between two benchmarks such as common formative assessments. The report includes students who have taken both the selected assessments and whose work has been graded. This is an enterprise report available to administrators and teachers.

Apply Filters

The Efficacy tab opens to a set of filters that let you narrow the scope of your report:
  • Student Set — limit the report to a specific group of students
  • Tests — filter by one or more assessments
  • Demographics — segment results by demographic attributes
After applying filters, select the pre-assessment, post-assessment, and performance band to compare, then generate the report.

Understand the Report Sections

Compare Average Scores

This section shows the number of students who submitted and received a grade on both the pre- and post-assessments, a comparison of average scores for each, and the percentage change between them.

Examine Performance Band Movement

This section shows the band movement between the pre-assessment and post-assessment results, with data presented by score and percentage. Use this view to see how many students moved up, stayed, or moved down in their performance band after receiving support.

Analyze Performance Change

The Performance Change section lets you compare student results by score percentage or raw score across the following groups:
  • School
  • Teacher
  • Grade
  • Class
  • Students
  • Race
  • Gender
  • Hispanic Ethnicity
  • FRL Status
  • ELL Status
  • IEP Status
Administrators cannot currently compare performance change by individual student.
