You can create assessments with two of the banks in Pear Assessment: questions in the Item Bank or assessments in the Library.

Create Assessments from the Item Bank

You can create assessments with two of the banks in Pear Assessment:
  1. Questions in the Item Bank
  2. Assessments in the Library

Select Questions from Item Bank

  1. Click Item Bank in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select the applicable settings under Filter to narrow your search.
Select the applicable settings under Filter to narrow your search. Tip: If you’re an ELA teacher looking for passage-based items, use the Question Type filter to find passages.
  1. Click View to preview questions before you select them.
  2. Click the plus button (+) to add the questions to your cart.
  3. The number of items you add to your cart shows in the toolbar at the top of your screen under Create Test with [Number] Items.
  4. Click Create Test with [Number] Items to start creating your test.
  5. Confirm your selections in the Review tab. You can reorder your questions, remove unwanted questions, preview them, or add grade and subject tags.
  6. Set the test conditions under the Settings tab.
  7. Click Assign to create your test.
  8. Follow the tabs under Assignment Settings to set up when the test starts and ends, which students are assigned to it, and more settings.
Tip: If you decide that the test isn’t exactly as you want, you can clone it and make changes. Create test with 3 items button. Settings in the "Review" tab when creating an assessment. Test conditions available under the "Settings" tab.

Edit Current Tests

Tests can also be created by selecting an existing test from the Test library, cloning it, and editing it using items from the Item Bank.
  1. Click Test.
  2. Set the filters to show a limited number of existing assessments that address your needs for a new assessment.
  3. Hover an assessment and click More.
Hover a test and click "More" to see additional menu options.
  1. Click Clone. The assessment will be titled “Copy of” with today’s date.

  1. Follow the tabs to set up the settings and complete the clone.
