Passage-based questions in Pear Assessment can be used for all subjects that ask students to evaluate and respond to a stimulus (e.g., text, video, diagram, etc.). Please set it up in Item Bank > New Item > Passage > Passage with Questions.

Passage-based questions in Pear Assessment can be used for all subjects that ask students to evaluate and respond to a stimulus (e.g., text, video, diagram, etc.).

Create Passage-Based Questions

  1. Click Item Bank in the navigation menu.
  2. Click New Item.
  3. Click Passage.
  4. Click Passage with Questions.
  5. Click Add Video or Add Passage under Edit Mode.
  6. Fill out the required information for either option and click Save.
  7. Repeat step 5 to add more videos and passages (if applicable).
  8. Click Add First Part To This Item to add questions and resources.
  9. Click Publish once you have added all of the items you need.
  10. Once you have built the passage-based question, you can manipulate the item order, point value, add or remove items, etc. on the Review.
Note: You are not able to add pre-built questions to a passage from the Review screen. To add more questions, click on the passage title and add new questions from scratch.
