When you leave a school, your Pear Practice account stays tied to the email address you used to sign up. If that email belonged to your old school’s Google Workspace or district, you may lose access to it after you leave. Your practice sets, class data, and assignments do not transfer automatically to a new account. This article covers what to do before you leave, how to start fresh at a new school, and what options exist if you have already lost access.

Before You Leave Your Current School

Take these steps while you still have access to your old account. Save your practice set names and structures.
  1. Open My Library in Pear Practice.
  2. Review each practice set and note its name, subject, and grade level.
  3. For sets you want to reuse, note the questions or copy the question text into a separate document.
Move practice sets to your public profile. Publishing a set to your public profile makes it accessible from any Pear Practice account. See Move Your Practice Sets to a New Account for the full steps. Download any reports you need.
  1. Open Reports from the left navigation.
  2. Select the class and date range you want to save.
  3. Export or screenshot the data you need.
Class reports are tied to your current account and will not carry over. Download anything you need to keep for records before you lose access.

Sign Up with Your New School Email

When you start at a new school, create a new Pear Practice account using your new school email address.
  1. Go to practice.peardeck.com/sign-in.
  2. Click Sign up and follow the prompts with your new school email.
  3. If your district uses Google Workspace, click Sign in with Google and choose your new school account.
Your new account starts empty. Practice sets, classes, and student rosters from your old account do not carry over automatically. To bring content from your old account, follow the steps in the next section.

Move Your Practice Sets to a New Account

Pear Practice does not support direct transfers between accounts. You can move practice sets by publishing them to the Public Library from your old account, then copying them into your new account. From your old account:
  1. Open My Library and select the practice set you want to move.
  2. Click the options menu (three dots) and select Share to Public Library.
  3. Confirm the sharing settings and click Share. Repeat for each practice set you want to move.
From your new account:
  1. Select the Explore tab.
  2. Search for your name or the practice set title.
  3. Select the set and click Copy to My Library.
The practice set is now in your new account’s library. You can edit it, assign it, or keep it private. Limitations:
  • Student response data and assignment history do not transfer with the practice set.
  • Sets must be made public temporarily, which means other Pear Practice users can find and copy them during that window.
  • After copying, you can return to your old account and set the practice set back to private or remove it from the Public Library.
Once your practice sets are in your new account, you can assign them to classes, edit them, or build new sets on top of them.

If You’ve Already Lost Access to Your Old Account

If you can no longer sign in with your old school email, contact Pear Practice Support. Provide as much of the following as possible:
  • Your old email address (even if you no longer have access to it)
  • Your new email address
  • The name of your previous school or district
  • The approximate date your access ended
Support can look up your account by the old email address, confirm what content was associated with it, and help you copy that content through the public profile workflow. Contact Support at support.peardeck.com or through the Help menu inside Pear Practice. Pear Practice does not support account merging. If you have content in 2 separate accounts, such as one from a previous school and one from your current school, the accounts cannot be combined into a single login. The workaround uses your public profile: publish practice sets from one account to the Public Library, then copy them into the other account. See Move Your Practice Sets to a New Account for the full steps. What Support can do:
  • Look up accounts associated with a past email address
  • Confirm what content was in a previous account
  • Help you copy content through the public profile workflow if you are locked out
What Support cannot do:
  • Merge 2 accounts into 1
  • Transfer student data, assignment history, or class rosters between accounts
  • Restore access to an email address managed by your former school or district
For account questions, contact Support at support.peardeck.com.
