With Pear Deck Instant Share, teachers can open Pear Deck sessions for students, access Pear Deck templates, and create new decks directly from their GoGuardian Teacher class sessions.

Requirements

To use Pear Deck Instant Share, you need:
  • A GoGuardian Teacher account
  • A Pear Deck account
Your Pear Deck and GoGuardian email addresses must match to link accounts. If the email address connected to your existing Pear Deck account doesn’t match, you’ll need to create a new Pear Deck account.
  1. In GoGuardian Teacher, click the Peary icon in the bottom-left corner of the page.
    • If you have an existing Pear Deck account, click Link Account and follow the email selection prompt to connect your accounts.
    • If you don’t have a Pear Deck account, click Sign Up for a Free Trial and follow the email selection prompt. After the trial starts, click Peary again, then click Link Account and follow the account selection prompt to finish.
  2. Once your accounts are linked, a Pear Deck tab will appear while your GoGuardian class is in session. This confirms the integration is active.

Open an Existing File in Google Drive

  1. During a class session, click the Pear Deck tab, then select Open an existing file in your Drive.
  2. A Google Drive file selection window opens. Select a file from your personal Google Drive, or select Shared drives to choose a presentation shared with you.
  3. In the student selection modal, choose which students to launch the presentation to. Select Select All to include the entire class, or select individual students by checking the box next to each name.
  4. Select Present Student-Paced to let students navigate the presentation at their own pace, or select Present Live to control the pace yourself.

Create a Pear Deck Lesson

  1. During a class session, click the Pear Deck tab, then select Create a Pear Deck lesson.
  2. A new Google Slides presentation opens. Customize it as needed for your class.
  3. If you haven’t used Pear Deck before, click the Pear Deck icon in Google Slides and install the Pear Deck for Google Slides add-on before proceeding.

Visit the Content Orchard

During a class session, click the Pear Deck tab, then select Visit the Content Orchard. The Content Orchard contains a library of free template packs you can use and customize to improve class engagement.
