GoGuardian Hall Pass uses integrated bell schedules to help staff see where a student is expected to be and create passes using the student’s scheduled class location.

Integrated Bell Schedules in Hall Pass

Once your school’s bell schedule integration is set up, Hall Pass uses student schedules to fill in pass locations and show staff where students should be throughout the day. Expected location reflects where a student is scheduled to be, not confirmation of their physical location.

Create a Pass with the Student’s Current Class Location

When staff create a pass for a student, the From location fills in automatically based on the student’s schedule for the current time. For example, if the student is scheduled to be in math class, Hall Pass uses that class location as the starting point for the pass.

Quickly Create Passes for Students in Your Current Class

When creating a pass, teachers can quickly select students from their active class. The My Class group in the student selector shows students scheduled to be in their class at the current time, based on the day’s bell schedule. Teachers can select a student from this group without searching the full school roster. Full-school search remains available when needed. If you use Schedule for Later, My Class reflects the class you are scheduled to teach at the selected future time. The group appears only when you have students scheduled for that time. It does not appear during passing periods.

Schedule a Pass for Later

When you schedule a pass for a future time, Hall Pass uses the class the student is scheduled to attend at the pass’s start time, not their current class. For example, if you create a pass in the morning for an afternoon appointment, the pass starts from the student’s scheduled afternoon class.

Use Scheduled Class Locations for Recurring Passes

Each time a recurring pass runs, Hall Pass uses the class the student is scheduled to attend at that occurrence’s start time. This means a repeating pass can start from different class locations on different days, depending on the student’s schedule.

Look Up a Student’s Expected Location

Staff can look up a student and see their expected location in the student’s profile. This location is based on the student’s schedule for the current time. Use this information when you need to identify the class a student should be attending. Student profile showing the student's expected location.

View a Student’s Full Schedule

The student’s page includes a Schedule tab showing their full schedule. Open this tab to review the student’s classes and see where they are scheduled to be at other times of the day. Schedule tab on a student's page showing the student's full schedule.

Use Expected Locations in Visitor Management

Passes created through visitor management also use the student’s expected location:
  • Parent or guardian pickup: Hall Pass automatically uses the student’s expected location as the location they are leaving.
  • Student tardy check-in: Hall Pass automatically uses the student’s expected location as the destination they are going to.
