Use this article when scores are missing, grade sync to Google Classroom failed, or you cannot share results with another teacher.

Scores Are Missing from the Results View

Check the following in order:
  1. Assignment status: Open the assignment and confirm it is not in Draft status. Score data is not visible for Draft assignments.
  2. Student status: In the results table, each student shows a status: Submitted, In Progress, Not Started, or Absent. Scores appear only for students with Submitted status.
  3. Unenrolled students: If a student was removed from the class after submitting, their row may be hidden. Click All Students in the filter to include unenrolled students.
  4. Score release: Some assignments require scores to be released before they appear to the teacher in the results view. Confirm the assignment is not waiting on a scheduled score release.
If a student submitted but their score shows as blank or zero, open the student’s response view. Blank scores can result from open-ended items that require manual grading.

Scores Did Not Sync to Google Classroom

Pear Assessment sends scores to Google Classroom when:
  • The assignment was created using the Google Classroom integration (not manually in Pear Assessment and then linked).
  • Scores have been released to students.
  • The teacher’s Google Classroom authorization is active.
To troubleshoot a failed sync:
  1. Go to Settings and confirm your Google Classroom account is connected and authorized. If authorization has expired, reconnect it.
  2. Open the assignment and click Release Scores if scores have not been released. Google Classroom does not receive scores until they are released.
  3. After releasing scores, click Sync to Google Classroom in the assignment results view to trigger a manual push.
  4. Allow up to 5 minutes for scores to appear in Google Classroom after a manual sync.
If the Sync to Google Classroom option does not appear, the assignment was not created through the integration and cannot be synced retroactively.

I Need to Move a Student’s Score to a Different Assignment

Scores are tied to the assignment the student completed. Moving a score from one assignment to another requires a data request to Pear Assessment support. Before opening a case, confirm:
  • The student’s name, the source assignment, and the destination assignment.
  • The reason the score needs to move (for example, the student completed the wrong test).
Pear Assessment support can transfer score data between assignments in some cases. Not all transfers are possible — contact support to confirm.

I Need to Share Results with Another Teacher

Teachers can share assignment results with a co-teacher or administrator in two ways: Add a co-teacher to the class:
  1. Open the class and click Manage Class.
  2. Add the co-teacher’s email address.
  3. The co-teacher now sees all assignments and results for that class.
Share via a collaboration group:
  1. In the assignment results view, click Share.
  2. Select Collaboration Group and choose or create a group.
  3. Members of the group can view the shared results.
Shared results are view-only unless the other teacher is added as a co-teacher.

A Student’s Score Changed After the Class Ended

Scores can change after an assignment closes if:
  • Manual grading was completed after the close date.
  • A teacher used the Regrade option to correct a scoring error.
  • A district admin ran a bulk score update.
To see the grading history for a specific student response, open the student’s response view and click Activity Log if available.

Contact Support

For score issues that cannot be resolved through the steps above, contact Pear Deck Learning support. Include the assignment name, the class name, and the specific student and symptom.
