Scene Information

Filter List Type
Each Scene uses one of 2 filter list types:

Allowed and Blocked URLs
Sites are added to a Scene by entering a URL or keyword into the search field. GoGuardian Teacher returns the site plus related suggestions. Click Add to include any of them. You can add:- Full websites: affects the entire site and all pages within it
- Website paths: affects only a specific section of a site
- Individual webpages: affects a single page
Websites blocked by GoGuardian Admin cannot be allowed through an Allow List Scene. Teachers do not have visibility into which sites GoGuardian Admin is blocking from within GoGuardian Teacher.

Quick Lists
Quick Lists are pre-built collections of URLs that can be added to or removed from a Scene all at once.

Auto-Open Tabs
URLs added to the Auto-Open section open automatically on student devices when the Scene is applied.- For Allow Lists: add the site to the allowed list first, then check the Auto-Open checkbox that appears next to it.
- For Block Lists: use the Auto-Open Tabs section in the Block List editing interface.
Tabs only auto-open if the student has a Chrome window open. If students do not receive the tabs, ask them to open a Chrome window.

Maximum Open Tabs
Set the Tab limit for students using the drop-down menu in the Scene editor. When the Scene is applied, students cannot open more than the set number of tabs. Any tabs over the limit are closed automatically when the Scene is applied. No limit is set by default. The tab limit is only active while the Scene is applied to the session.
Advanced Filtering
Advanced Filtering adds exceptions to a Scene’s allow or block rules. Use it to allow or block an entire domain while carving out specific exceptions. Example: Adding*google.com* to an Allow Mode Scene allows all Google services. Adding sites.google.com as an Advanced Filter exception blocks that specific Google service while keeping all others accessible.
