GoGuardian Discover automatically scans app legal content and provides summaries when changes are detected. This workflow helps your district review legal changes faster and decide whether a deeper policy review is needed.

Review Automated Scan Inputs

Discover’s automated legal scan uses each app’s legal source URLs as the scan input. Verify the source links before reviewing status or summary outputs.
  1. Go to Discover and select App Catalog.
  2. Find the app you want to review.
  3. Select the app name to open the app details page.
  4. Click the Overview tab.
  5. Find Terms of Service and open the link in a new tab.
  6. Find Privacy Policy and open the link in a new tab.
  7. Confirm that both links point to the expected vendor legal pages.

Review Stored Privacy and Compliance Results

Discover stores privacy and compliance outputs for each app so your team can review them without manually collecting legal metadata.
  1. Go to Discover and select App Catalog.
  2. Find the app you want to review.
  3. Select the app name to open the app details page.
  4. Select the Privacy & Compliance tab.
  5. Review certification results for 1EdTech and iKeepSafe.
  6. Review COPPA and FERPA compliance statuses.
  7. Review the Data Sharing Agreement value for your district.
  8. Review Data last updated to confirm data freshness.

Review Change Summary

When Discover detects legal content changes, it presents a summary so you can quickly review what changed before opening the full legal text.
  1. Go to Discover and select App Catalog.
  2. Find the app you want to review.
  3. Select the app name to open the app details page.
  4. On the app details page, review the summary text under the app name.
  5. Select Read More when the summary is truncated. If a change summary is shown, use it as a first-pass review of updated legal language.
  6. Open the linked Terms of Service and Privacy Policy pages to validate any high-impact updates before taking district action.
