Use the unified chart and table on an app’s details page in GoGuardian Discover to compare usage across up to 5 schools, classrooms, organizational units (OUs), or operating systems.

Compare App Usage

  1. Go to Discover and select App Catalog.
  2. Find the app you want to review, then select its name.
  3. In the Usage section, choose the date range for the comparison.
  4. Select the group type you want to compare: OUs, Schools, Classrooms, or OSes.
  5. Select a table-row checkbox to add that group to the chart above the table.
  6. Add up to 5 groups to the comparison.
  7. Review the chart to compare usage across the selected groups.
  8. Verify the result: Each selected group appears as a series in the chart, and its table-row checkbox remains selected.
Search filters the rows shown in the table without clearing groups you already selected. Selections also remain when you sort the table, move between pages, change the chart metric, or update the date range.

Change Compared Groups

  • Clear a table-row checkbox to remove that group from the chart.
  • Remove a group from the chart legend to clear the corresponding table-row checkbox.
  • Switch group types to build a separate comparison for OUs, schools, classrooms, or operating systems. Discover retains the selections for each group type while you move between them.

FAQ

Why is the Schools option unavailable? Discover hides Schools when your organization does not have school data from Clever or ClassLink. Confirm the roster integration and shared schools in GoGuardian Org Management. See Sync Rosters with Clever or ClassLink. Why does a group show no usage? The group may have no activity in the selected date range, or its roster associations may be incomplete. Expand the date range, then see Fix Missing Data if data is still missing. Can I compare more than 5 groups? No. Remove a selected group before adding another group to the chart.
