To see student names alongside their responses, require email sign-in before you present. Without it, responses appear anonymously in all views.
Show Responses Anonymously on the Projector View
The Projector View displays all responses anonymously by default. Students can respond without seeing what their peers submitted until you choose to reveal answers.- Start a new Pear Deck lesson or reopen a previous one from your Sessions menu.
- If starting a new lesson, select Instructor Paced to open the Projector View automatically.
- Hover over the bottom of the slide. The navigation bar appears.
- Click Show Responses.
View Named Responses in the Teacher Dashboard
The Teacher Dashboard is a private view that shows student names next to their responses. Open it from the Projector View during a live Session, or from the Sessions menu to review responses after class.Open from the Projector View
Use this method during a live Session to keep responses private while you present.- On the Projector View, click the More Actions (three-dot) button.
- Click Open Dashboard in New Window.
Open from the Sessions Menu
Use this method to review responses after class or during a Student Paced Session.- Go to your Sessions page.
- Find the Session you want to review.
- Click the Dashboard View icon next to the Session.
Review Responses after Class
Responses are automatically saved in your Sessions menu. To review them later, find the Session and open the Projector View (for anonymous responses) or the Dashboard (for named responses). A Session with a Closed status means students can no longer join. Sessions with a Live or Student-Paced status are still accepting responses. Change the status by opening a view or clicking the More Actions button next to the Session.Publish Responses after the Lesson
When you sign in to Pear Deck with Google, you can publish responses at the end of a lesson. Publish only when you are done collecting responses. You can publish only once per Session.- Takeaways (Premium): Publish an individualized Google Doc for each student containing images of the slides and the student’s own responses, with space for notes. Takeaways are saved to your Google Drive, and each student sees only their own document.
- Spreadsheet export: Automatically export Text, Multiple Choice, and Number responses (not Drawing or Draggable) to a Google Sheet for grading. The sheet includes student names and email addresses if email sign-in was required.
