Add Demographic Data to Student Accounts

Demographic data can be added optionally to a student account in the Manage District or Manage Class sections. Please note that Manage District is only available to administrators. You can use the demographic data points to review reports in Data Studio and make strategic decisions in your organization. Administrators can also filter for certain population groups, such as English Language Learners, from the data set to address the needs of the different student populations. Generally, the data is added by teachers and requires appending individual records. If a district or school syncs the roster data through a Student Information System (SIS) like Clever, the demographic data can be imported via the SIS.

Add Demographic Data as an Administrator

  1. Click Manage District in the navigation menu.
  2. Click Users.
  3. Click Student.
  4. Hover a student’s name and click the pencil at the row’s end.
  5. Click to expand the Configure Additional Details.
  6. Fill out the fields as needed.

Add Demographic Data as a Teacher

  1. Click Manage Class in the navigation menu.
  2. Click on the class name.
  3. Select a student by checking the box next to their name.
  4. Click Actions in the toolbar > Edit Student.
  5. Click to expand the Configure Additional Details.
