Each question in Pear Assessment has a point value that contributes to a student’s overall test score. You can change a question’s point value at any time from the item editor: whether you are building a new test or revising an existing one.

Change a Question’s Point Value

  1. In GoGuardian Pear Assessment, click Item Bank in the navigation menu.
  2. Locate the question you want to update, then click the pencil (edit) icon in the question’s toolbar.
  3. In the item editor, click the Edit Mode tab if it is not already selected.
  4. Scroll down to the Scoring section.
  5. In the Points field, enter the new point value.
  6. Click Save.
When editing a question that is part of an assigned test, follow the regrading process to apply your changes to student submissions. See Edit and Regrade an Assigned Test for details.

You can also update a question’s point value directly from within a test without going to the Item Bank.
  1. Open the test in the test editor.
  2. Click the pencil (edit) icon on the question you want to update.
  3. In the Edit Mode tab, scroll down to the Scoring section.
