Use a Supported Kiosk Device
Every kiosk needs a camera, built-in or external, for ID scanning and photos. To set up a kiosk on each platform, see Kiosks.
Windows kiosks need the Enterprise or Education edition because they use Shell Launcher, the Windows kiosk feature that limits the computer to the GoGuardian Campus app. Don’t install The GoGuardian App on Windows kiosks. It runs GoGuardian Admin, Beacon, and Teacher on managed devices and is separate from the GoGuardian Campus app. Front desk computers can run any edition.
Use a Supported Front Desk Computer
Staff use the Front Desk in a web browser. To scan IDs and take photos at the front desk, the computer needs a camera, built-in or external. A front desk computer can print badges to a printer connected to it, or to a printer connected to an online kiosk, depending on the computer:
To print directly from a Windows front desk computer, install Campus Front Desk Print Service from the GoGuardian Campus installer for Windows. Download the installer from Installation → Campus in GoGuardian Org Management. Kiosks use Campus Kiosk Application, the installer’s other feature. For how printing works, see Badge Printers.
Choose a Badge Printer
Visitor supports these badge printers. The connection a printer can use depends on the kiosk platform.Choose Badge Labels
Visitor prints badges on these labels. Select the label in Media Type when you add or edit a printer.
Dymo LabelWriter 550 and 550 Turbo printers work only with genuine Dymo labels.
To add a printer and select its label, see Badge Printers.
Allow Network Traffic
Allow this traffic on your network for kiosks and front desk computers:
If you use network printers, put them on the same network as the kiosks and Windows front desk computers that print to them. Then open these ports on that network:
