Understand How Filtering Applies Across Desks
GoGuardian Admin filtering policies cover all open Desks simultaneously. A student opening a second or third Desk does not create a separate, unfiltered browsing environment. Every tab open on every Desk is subject to the same filtering rules that apply to the student’s assigned policy.The Desks feature cannot be disabled from Google Admin Console. GoGuardian Admin filtering covers all Desks regardless of how many are open.
Understand How Activity Appears in Reports
Browsing activity from all open Desks is captured and appears in GoGuardian Admin reports. The Desk a student was using when the activity occurred does not affect whether that activity is recorded or how it appears. Administrators and tech directors reviewing browsing reports will see activity from all Desks in a single unified view.Understand What GoGuardian Teacher Shows
GoGuardian Teacher displays one screen view at a time: whichever window the student is actively focused on. When a student switches between Desks, the screen view updates to reflect the newly active Desk. Within GoGuardian Teacher, the active tab from the focused Desk appears under the Active Tab label in the Student Activity section. Tabs open on other Desks appear under Other Tabs. Both Active Tab and Other Tabs entries are subject to GoGuardian Teacher Scene filtering rules, including Tab Limits. Teachers can close tabs in either group using the Close Tab command.
